Week 15 Thursday Game Preview

The wonderful NFL schedule makers once again bring us a Thursday night game. A Thursday night game that cannot be viewed if you use Time Warner Cable or Cablevision. Ugh!!! Here's hoping that the fat cats getting rich off of us viewers strike a deal soon and bring the NFL Network to all of us in need. In the meantime, here's what tonight's contest looks like to me.

Seattle Seahawks over the San Francisco 49ers

Standouts: Matt Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander, Deion Branch, D.J. Hackett, Frank Gore, Alex Smith, Antonio Bryant, Joe Nedney

It looks like it's payback time for the Hawks. These are not the same guys the Niners upset back in Week 11, and now the grudge match takes place in Seattle; the loudest stadium in the NFL, save for Arrowhead in K.C. The Seahawks should mix it up nicely on offense and we could see the Shaun Alexander breakout game we were expecting last week. He should post over 100 yards with a score or two, while Matt Hasselbeck should have some fun with the S.F. secondary. With Darrell Jackson out (toe), you can probably expect Deion Branch to get the bulk of the looks and should post a real nice game for you. Upstart D.J. Hackett will look to improve on last week's breakout and TE Jerramy Stevens could get in on the action down in the red zone. As for the Niners, expect them to attack with breakout stud Frank Gore from the onset. He'll get plenty of carries and should post a solid game if it remains close. Expect a major change to the aerial attack in the second half as I expect San Fran to be playing a little catch up. A little Alex Smith to Antonio Bryant action as usual; just don't expect another big week out of Vernon Davis. He probably won't find as much success against the Seahawks as he did against Arizona. Had I started Joe Nedney last week I'd still be playing this week. Expect him to post solid kicker numbers here.

Don't forget...

There's a game on Saturday this week as well, but the rest of the preview should go up before that.

Keith will have the rest of the skill position rankings later in the day, but with plenty of time before tonight's kickoff.

Good luck!
