Commentary: F-ugh-K!

by Phil Brody

One the way to this commentary, I hit my head and suffered a Grade Two concussion. As a result, I do not recall Sunday at all.

So, did anything newsworthy happen?

I was kidding about the concussion, although as an owner of McNabb, Ronnie Brown, Donald Driver, Roy Williams, Larry Fitz and the Chargers D, I only wish I could somehow forget what I witnessed yesterday. Ugh. I wish there was a pill for that. Then, maybe, just maybe, there’d be a smile on my face today.

Instead, shellshock. “Are you F-ing kidding me?”
Disbelief. “I cannot believe my eyes.”
Betrayal. “Et tu, Donald?”

Geez, oh man, it’s amazing how one day, one Sunday of NFL action can alter, affect and agonize one’s fantasy team, mood and day.

Sunday. UGH! Make it go away, someone, please.

Donovan McNabb, out for the year, torn ACL.
Brett Favre, injured elbow.
Aaron Brook, out for the year, an inoperable case of suckiness.
LaMont Jordan, out for the year, torn MCL.
DeShaun Foster, status uncertain, hyperextended elbow.

Also injured, but not so serious:
Colston, Kevin Jones, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, Hines Ward, Corey Dillon.

Also newsworthy:
Brees throws for 500+ yards, loses.
BAMF is just not human, should be cast on that show Heroes.
Willie Parker, Travis Henry, Frank Gore go off.
So does Lee Evans and Chad Johnson (again).
Isaac Bruce flat-out sucked this week.
Lundy & Gado entered a RBBC.
A day after Ohio Sate fills all of Ohio with glee, Cleveland is slapped back down to earth by former Miami University QB, Ben Roethlisberger.

F-ugh-K!

What a day. What. A. Day.

Not sure I can take much more, but that’s because I’m losing, facing an uphill battle to enter the post season, wishing for pills that could vanquish the pain.

In other news, I think I saw Jessica Alba the other day. Five-Six, Two-Fifteen. And the fat lady was humming too.

F-ugh-K me.

What I’m Watching: Favre, Leinart, Trent Green, SA, LJ, LT, Driver, Fitz, Chad, all the Thanksgiving games, and Chicago at New England.

Happy Thanksgiving all.
