Tuesday Morning Quarterback

Player of the Week: Eagles QB Donovan McNabb continues to show that, as long as he's healthy, it doesn't matter who his receivers are. With 354 passing yards, 2 TDs and another rushing TD, McNabb gets the honors this week. "T.O.? We don't need no stinkin' T.O.!"

You probably put another notch on your win belt if you started:

QB Donovan McNabb, PHI: 354 passing yards-2TD, 1 rushing yard-1 TD, FL
QB Damon Huard, KC: 282 passing yards-2TD, FL
QB Matt Leinart, ARI: 253 passing yards-2 TD, 1 INT
QB Alex Smith, SF: 165 passing yards-3 TD, 1 INT
RB Fred Taylor, JAC: 111 rushing yards-1 TD, 32 receiving yards
RB Larry Johnson, KC: 36 rushing yards, 106 receiving yards-1 TD, FL
RB Deuce McAllister, NO: 123 rushing yards-1 TD
WR Joey Galloway, TB: 110 receiving yards-1 TD
WR Greg Jennings, GB: 105 receiving yards-1 TD
WR Bernard Berrian, CHI: 97 receiving yards-1 TD
TE Antonio Gates, SD: 55 receiving yards-1 TD
K Robbie Gould, CHI: 4 FG, 4 XP
DEF Philadelphia Eagles: 3 INT, 7 sacks, 2 DFR, 1 DTD

You struggled mightily if you started:

QB Steve McNair, BAL: 165 passing yards-3 INT, 15 rushing yards
QB Mark Brunnell, WAS: 109 passing yards
RB Laurence Maroney, NE: 38 rushing yards
RB Kevin Jones, DET: 8 rushing yards, 42 receiving yards
RB LaDanaian Tomlinson, SD: 36 rushing yards, 34 receiving yards
RB Willis McGahee, BUF: 50 rushing yards, 15 receiving yards
WR Roy Williams, DET: 7 receiving yards
WR Mushin Muhammed, CHI: 10 receiving yards
WR Laveraneus Coles, NYJ: 19 receiving yards
WR Braylon Edwards, CLE: 27 receiving yards
WR Santana Moss, WAS: 39 receiving yards
TE Jeremy Shockey, NYG: 13 receiving yards
TE Tony Gonzalez, KC: 25 receiving yards
TE Todd Heap, BAL: 21 receiving yards

You displayed some freakish football knowledge if you started:

RB Noah Herron, GB: 106 rushing yard-1 TD, 20 receiving yards
WR Hank Baskett, PHI: 112 receiving yards-1 TD
WR Arnaz Battle, SF: 37 receiving yards-2 TD
TE Ernie Conwell, NO: 14 receiving yards-1 TD
TE George Wrighster, JAC: 13 receiving yards-1 TD
DEF Minnesota Vikings: 3 INT, 5 sacks, 1 DFR, 2 DTD

News & Notes

They just get past the Titans this week, barely beat the Jets last week....is it me or are the Colts just not a good football team anymore? Peyton at the helm, the receivers are the same...what gives? I guess if you're building a football team, Edgerrin James and Mike Vanderjaeget should be your foundation.

And how about those Jets? Back to earth? When the New York media is fluffing a 4th rounder like Leon Washington, things really have to be getting bad. Still, it was him for Herm Edwards so I guess the Jets still got the better end of that deal.

Looks like someone finally woke up the Vikings...and it wasn't even another stupid Roy Williams guarantee. Defense wins ballgames folks. Someone needs to share that with Mike Martz.

Look...if Greg Jennings is still available, pick him up dammit!! The Packers have another 11 games to fall behind in and Favre is getting Jennings the damn ball.

Does anyone else think it's funny that Rex Grossman will probably end up in the Pro Bowl this year? He and Bernard Berrian are going to light up Honolulu in February.

Good morning Cedric Benson!!! How nice of you to join the NFL, finally.

Just finished Week 5 and DeShaun Foster can still walk under his own power. Big turn around? I'd be grabbing DeAngelo Williams pretty damn soon. Up next are the Ravens and their not such a nice bunch.

A 100 yard rusher, a 100 yard receiver, the QB throws for 225 yards with 2 TDs and no INTs and they still can't win? Either John Gruden needs a defensive coordinator or the Saints are going to the Super Bowl this year. I'm guessing the former.

So last week I questioned a fantasy writer for his low ranking of Mark Brunnell going in to Week 5. Boy do I feel stupid.

Pffffft!!! Culpepper/Harrington...what the difference?

Anyone actually stay awake for that Monday night game? Ravens + Broncos = Snoozefest '06.

See that San Francisco...a visit from the Raiders is all you need. Welcome back Frank Gore and the rest of the Niner's offense.

Put away that bottle opener. Apparently Larry Johnson's head is a twist-off. Did you see that footage?!?!?. Good thing he's ok. Still though, I say to trade him. The cakewalk is over. For the next 3 weeks he sees Pittsburgh, San Diego and Seattle. Value's never gonna be this high again.

What happened to my LTD? I'm calling for a do-over!!!

And finally, I guess after this week, it's now Eagles 2 T.O. 0. The clock's ticking on Drew Bledsuck. Big D needs to be Romoliscious soon.
